Day 1: Yangon Arrival – City Tour – Shwedagon Pagoda (Sunset)
Arrive in Yangon where you will be warmly greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Begin your private city tour with a drive through the vibrant downtown area, known for its unique blend of colonial-era architecture and cultural landmarks. Pass by iconic sites such as the historic Post Office, Strand Hotel, Mahabandoola Garden, and the Independence Monument.
Continue your exploration with a visit to Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda, home to a magnificent 70-meter-long reclining Buddha adorned with traditional symbols. Stop for photos at Karaweik Hall, a royal barge-style structure on Kandawgyi Lake. In the evening, visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most sacred site, and admire its golden stupa glowing beautifully at sunset while locals and monks perform their devotions.
Day 2: Yangon – Golden Rock (B)
Depart early from Yangon and travel by road to Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda, widely known as Golden Rock, a remarkable pilgrimage site perched precariously on a gilded boulder over 1,100 meters above sea level.
Upon reaching the base camp, continue the ascent by local open truck along a scenic mountain route to the upper station. From there, proceed to the pagoda and take in breathtaking panoramic views along with the serene spiritual atmosphere. The site is especially enchanting at sunrise or sunset when the golden rock reflects changing hues of light.
Day 3: Golden Rock – Bago – Yangon (B)
Start your day early to witness the sunrise over Golden Rock and enjoy a peaceful walk around the hilltop sanctuary. After breakfast, descend back to the base camp and continue your journey to Bago.
In Bago, visit the revered Shwethalyaung Buddha, known for its impressive reclining figure. Then explore Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the tallest and most significant religious monuments in Myanmar. Continue to Kanbawzathadi Palace, a reconstructed royal residence of King Bayinnaung, offering insights into the country’s royal history.
Later in the afternoon, drive back to Yangon and check in at your hotel for the night.
Day 4: Yangon – Departure (B)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and spend your remaining time at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your onward international flight, concluding your memorable Myanmar tours from India.
